Nigerian Army Announces Shortlist for 2027 Officer Training Course
The Nigerian Army has published the list of candidates selected for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027. This announcement was made on their X account on Thursday.
Successful applicants can find their names on the Army’s official recruitment website, nashortservice.army.mil.ng. They are instructed to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy Ribadu Campus in Kaduna State starting on 23 November 2026.
The selection process will take place from 23 November to 11 December 2026. The SSCC program is open to qualified Nigerian civilians and serving military personnel, allowing them to become commissioned officers in various combat roles.
Those who complete the training will typically be commissioned as Second Lieutenants on a short service commission lasting 15 years. Candidates who applied between mid-August and 17 October 2026 should check the official site for their names and any specific reporting instructions.
Applicants are reminded to prepare original copies of important documents, including educational certificates, birth certificates, state of origin certificates, and identification slips. The Army has warned against unofficial websites or agents asking for payment related to recruitment, emphasizing that the process is free of charge.
Shortlisted candidates are encouraged to prepare for the medical, physical, and interview stages of the selection process. The Nigerian Army stresses the importance of merit, fitness, and transparency in selecting new officers.
