Sokoto State Commits to Enhanced Security Partnerships and Innovation

The Sokoto State Government is dedicated to enhancing security through stronger partnerships and modern technology. This commitment was highlighted by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, Col. Ahmed Usman (retd.), during the Africa International Defence Exhibition 2026 in Lagos.

Usman emphasized the need for collaboration among governments, security agencies, and technology providers to address rising threats such as terrorism and organized crime. He pointed out that African nations should invest in local research and manufacturing to create sustainable security solutions.

According to Usman, effective security management involves more than just deploying personnel and equipment. He noted that intelligence gathering, surveillance, and cooperation among agencies are also crucial.

The Sokoto State Government is committed to supporting security agencies and community-based initiatives to enhance safety and restore peace. Usman expressed hope that the exhibition would foster partnerships between Nigeria’s defense industry and international technology providers.

AFRIDEX 2026, which runs from October 26 to 29, aims to showcase defense technologies and promote cooperation among African countries. The Sokoto State Government is ready to adopt innovative solutions to ensure lasting peace and development in the region.
