Kogi Governor Secures Federal Support for State Development Initiatives
The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, met with the Finance Minister in Abuja on Sunday. The meeting aimed to secure federal support for Kogi’s development projects.
Governor Ododo was joined by the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Asiru Idris. The discussion followed the Governor’s recent trip to Kuwait, where he explored opportunities for development cooperation.
During the meeting, Ododo outlined Kogi State’s phased development program. This program focuses on key areas such as water security, irrigation, agriculture, reliable energy, and enhancing the value of minerals and industries. These goals are part of the state’s long-term development plan, which aims to boost the economy, create jobs, and improve living conditions.
The Finance Minister expressed support for Kogi’s development goals and promised to help strengthen coordination between the state and federal government as projects move forward.
Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of thorough feasibility studies and clear plans for implementation. He noted that discussions with Kuwait could lead to well-prepared projects, with financing details to be established through proper reviews.
This meeting is part of the Ododo administration’s strategy to form partnerships that will benefit Kogi State and its residents.
