Edo Governor Encourages Support for Tinubu’s Re-Election Amid Development Claims

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has asked residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming that the federal government’s economic reforms are leading to improvements in the state.

Okpebholo made this appeal on Wednesday during a visit to the Ojuromi of Uromi, HRH Zaiki Anselm Aidenojie II, at his palace in the Esan Northeast Local Government Area. He was accompanied by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During his visit, the governor highlighted ongoing projects such as road construction, upgrades to primary healthcare centers, and the building of schools. He acknowledged that the benefits of these efforts may take time to be visible, stating, “Most of the work I am undertaking cannot manifest in one day. It takes time because it involves construction.”

Okpebholo mentioned that many roads have been completed and that more projects are underway, which he believes will improve transportation and boost the local economy.

He also addressed the issue of electricity, a longstanding challenge in the state. The governor announced plans for a new 100-megawatt power plant in Edo South, along with another project that will add 16 megawatts. He stated, “These projects are part of our efforts to address the power problem in the state.”

Okpebholo credited the federal government for the progress made so far and expressed his desire for Edo to support Tinubu’s government. He emphasized, “The man driving that success is Mr. President.”

HRH Aidenojie II praised the governor for his efforts to accelerate development in Edo, offering prayers for his continued wisdom and success during his administration.
