Kaduna Governor Uba Sani Defends Tinubu’s Record Ahead of 2027 Elections

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has criticized an unnamed Northern presidential candidate who plans to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. Sani claims this candidate lacks a strong record of achievements to support their ambition.

During a campaign event in Kaduna, Sani emphasized that voters in Northern Nigeria would not choose a candidate based solely on their regional background. He stated that leadership should be assessed based on actual performance and contributions to the community.

Sani urged the unnamed candidate to present evidence of their accomplishments in public office, especially in improving infrastructure. He argued that President Tinubu has made significant investments in areas like roads, security, and education, which demonstrate his commitment to the North.

He recalled that during the 2022 campaign, Tinubu visited Birnin Gwari, a region known for its security issues, despite warnings. Sani praised Tinubu for fulfilling promises made during that visit, including the reconstruction of a long-abandoned road and improvements in security.

Additionally, Sani highlighted the ongoing projects under Tinubu’s administration, such as the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and the development of a metropolitan rail project in Kaduna. He noted that these initiatives have greatly benefited the people of the region.

Sani also pointed out that the North-West has received substantial support for education, helping thousands of students from underprivileged backgrounds. He expressed confidence that the people of Northern Nigeria would show their appreciation for Tinubu’s efforts by voting for him in the 2027 elections.

He concluded by urging supporters to remain vigilant against opposition parties, which he accused of relying on social media rather than engaging with the public directly. Sani assured Tinubu that the North would remember his contributions and support his re-election bid.
