APC Aims for 800,000 Votes in Ekiti for Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Bid
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set a goal of 800,000 votes for President Bola Tinubu in Ekiti State for the 2027 presidential election. This announcement was made during a campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, where Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, the Director General of the APC’s Presidential Campaign Council, expressed confidence that Northern Nigeria would support Tinubu.
Yari urged Ekiti voters to exceed the 80 percent support they gave Tinubu in the previous election, aiming for about 90 percent this time. He noted that out of more than a million registered voters, over 900,000 had collected their voter cards. He emphasized the importance of a strong turnout, promising that it would lead to increased federal support for Ekiti.
During the rally, Yari highlighted the achievements of Tinubu’s administration, mentioning improvements in education, roads, and support for youth and women. He also pointed out that candidates from opposition parties attended the rally to show their support for Tinubu.
Yari made a call to the opposition, questioning what they would do differently if elected. He stated that the APC would focus on its record and the improvements made under Tinubu’s leadership, including economic indicators like inflation and trade balance.
Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the APC, also spoke at the rally, presenting the party’s candidates for various positions. He praised Tinubu for his performance and reforms, including changes to the tax system that benefit low-income earners. Yilwatda encouraged Ekiti voters to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming elections.
He concluded by urging the people of Ekiti to come out in large numbers on January 16 for the National Assembly elections and to support Tinubu for a second term.
