Wema Bank Announces Finalists for Hackaholics 7.0 Competition in Lagos

Wema Bank has revealed the Top 21 finalists for its Hackaholics 7.0 competition. The grand finale will take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, in Lagos.

This year’s event is themed “Festival of the Future” and will gather innovators, technology leaders, startup founders, investors, and other key figures in Nigeria’s innovation scene. It aims to celebrate ideas and technology that shape the future.

Hackaholics is Wema Bank’s initiative aimed at helping young innovators turn their creative ideas into practical solutions. Since its start in 2019, the program has attracted over 21,000 applicants and engaged more than 50,000 participants across three countries.

This year’s Hackaholics began on July 1, 2026, and received 5,329 entries, leading to 1,632 innovative ideas. After a thorough evaluation, the Top 21 finalists were selected.

The grand finale week will include a three-day program of activities. On November 4, the finalists will present refined versions of their solutions during the Pre-Pitch event. The following day, they will tour leading institutions in the technology and innovation sector, gaining insights from industry professionals.

Wema Bank continues to support Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem by identifying emerging talent and creating opportunities for young innovators. The initiative helps build a space where ideas can flourish and real-world challenges can be addressed.
