Police Arrest Man for Impersonating Military Officer in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police have arrested a 35-year-old man named Akinola Damilare, known as “General Don,” for allegedly pretending to be a military officer and for attempted murder. The arrest took place in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

According to the police, the arrest was made after a community leader provided credible information about Damilare’s activities. Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that the suspect was caught in Kajola, Elega, following careful surveillance by the police’s Special Weapons and Tactics team.

During the arrest, officers found several items with Damilare, including a military cap, military-style trousers, and photographs of him dressed in military uniform. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the impersonation and to see if anyone else is involved.

The Ogun State Police have emphasized their commitment to addressing impersonation and other criminal activities. They encourage residents to report any suspicious behavior to help reduce crime in the area.
