Outgoing Housing Minister Ahmed Dangiwa Formally Thanks President Tinubu Following Cabinet Reshuffle; Pledges Continued Support for National Development Goals

The former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has formally expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration. His remarks followed a Tuesday morning announcement by the Presidency detailing a strategic cabinet reshuffle aimed at enhancing the delivery of the government’s economic and developmental objectives.

In a statement issued from Abuja today, Dangiwa characterized his time in office as a period of significant reform within the housing sector. He noted that it was an honor to be entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the administration’s housing initiatives, which sought to address the nation’s long-standing infrastructure deficit. “I sincerely thank Mr. President for the confidence he reposed in me,” Dangiwa stated. “Contributing to policies that provide decent and affordable housing for Nigerians has been a deeply fulfilling chapter of my professional life.”

The administrative changes, communicated through a memo from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, signaled a move to strengthen synergy across key ministries. Alongside Dangiwa’s departure, the reshuffle included the elevation of Taiwo Oyedele to Minister of Finance and the nomination of Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma to lead the Housing Ministry.

During his tenure, Dangiwa was a central figure in launching several large-scale urban development projects across the six geopolitical zones. He urged the ministry’s staff and his successor to maintain the momentum established over the past year to ensure that ongoing projects reach completion.

As the government moves toward its next phase of economic consolidation, the outgoing minister emphasized his remained commitment to Nigeria’s progress. The handover process is expected to be finalized by Thursday, marking the formal end of his service in the current cabinet as the administration continues to reinvigorate its executive team ahead of the 2027 transition cycle.
