Governor Soludo Proposes Deal for South-West Support of Igbo Presidency
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has shared his thoughts on how the South-West might support an Igbo presidency. He believes this support could happen if the South-East backs President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
In a recent video, Soludo emphasized that gaining presidential power relies on discussions and agreements among political leaders. He stated, “Presidency is about discussion and agreement.”
Soludo explained that since President Tinubu, who is from the South-West, is currently in office, the South-East should support him. He believes that if this happens, the South-West would be more likely to support an Igbo candidate when power returns to the South after going to the North.
The South-East has been eager to have one of its own become Nigeria’s president. Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi ran for president in the 2023 election as a candidate for the Labour Party, finishing in third place.
