Nigeria and Cyprus Aim to Boost Trade and Investment Cooperation
Nigeria and Cyprus are ready to strengthen their trade and investment relationships, as well as educational cooperation. This commitment was made during a recent ceremony in Nicosia, where Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, presented her credentials to Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.
During the ceremony, Ufochukwu delivered greetings from Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and expressed her dedication to improving relations between the two nations throughout her time in office. President Christodoulides welcomed Ufochukwu and highlighted the long-standing friendship between Cyprus and Nigeria, rooted in shared history and values.
Christodoulides recognized Nigeria’s important role in West Africa and its contributions to regional stability and cooperation. He assured that Cyprus is eager to collaborate with Nigeria to enhance their relationship in key areas such as the economy, trade, education, and political dialogue.
The presentation of credentials allows Ufochukwu to officially represent Nigeria in Cyprus and act as a communication link between the two governments. This renewed diplomatic effort is expected to open doors for economic opportunities, educational exchanges, and better engagement with Nigerians living in Cyprus.
Ufochukwu plans to meet with Cypriot officials, business leaders, and members of the Nigerian community to turn the goodwill expressed during the ceremony into tangible benefits for both countries.
