PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Undergo Surgery for Knee Injury
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a winger for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), will need surgery after injuring his right knee during a match against Barcelona on Tuesday. The injury occurred just before the 60-minute mark at the Parc des Princes, forcing him to leave the game.
PSG announced the injury in a statement on Wednesday, mentioning that the 25-year-old player will have surgery in the coming days. However, the club did not specify when he might return to play.
This injury is a significant setback for PSG, as they are already dealing with other player absences. Forward Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos are also out for several weeks due to thigh injuries sustained during the same match against Barcelona.
Additionally, defender Nuno Mendes is unavailable, leaving coach Luis Enrique with four injured players as PSG continues its Champions League campaign. The team has won all three of its league-phase matches so far.
