Osun Senator Fadahunsi Faces Police Over Viral Attack Video

Osun East Senator Francis Fadahunsi has honoured a summons from the Nigeria Police Force following the viral spread of a controversial video recording linked to pre-election violence in Osun State.

The investigation centers on a widely circulated clip in which a voice attributed to the lawmaker appeared to instruct political supporters to target members of the Accord Party as campaigning reached a climax across the state.

Appearing before police investigators, Senator Fadahunsi rejected the contents of the video, insisting that he never issued any directives promoting violence against political opponents. He claimed that the audio and video were artificially manipulated using advanced artificial intelligence technology by political adversaries seeking to framed him and disrupt peace in the region.

The incident highlights growing concerns among security agencies over the potential misuse of digital media and deepfake technology to destabilize public order during high-stakes election cycles.

Police authorities confirmed that the investigation remains active to establish the origin of the media file, verify whether digital tampering occurred, and ensure that those responsible for inciting political disorder or spreading dangerous misinformation face appropriate legal consequences.
