Firm assists flood victims in Bayelsa

Premium online and gaming brand in Nigeria, Betway has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of the 2022 devastating floods in Bayelsa State to help reduce their suffering.

The relief items are bags of rice, beans, gallons of groundnut oil, cartons of noodles, spaghetti, tomato pastes, antiseptics, tooth paste, bathing soaps, sanitary towels, among other essentials.

The Chief Operating Officer of Betway Nigeria, Kunle Olamuyiwa, who presented the materials to the officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency in Yenagoa, sympathised with the flood victims in the state.

Olamuyiwa said, “The floods also destroyed residents’ only means of livelihood, inevitably leading to increased hunger amongst affected communities. This is the reason why Betway, as a responsible company, is supporting NEMA in its disaster relief provisions for affected communities in Bayelsa.”

According to him, the donation was part of the company’s social responsibility to its customers in order to leave positive imprints in the countries that Betway operates in, in addition to its offering of unique betting products and encouraging responsible gaming amongst players.
