Nigerians Abroad Urged to Support Families Regardless of Politics
Prince Bidemi Akintunde, the Director of the City Boy Movement in the UK, has urged Nigerians living abroad to support their families back home, regardless of political differences. He emphasized that financial assistance should be an act of love and responsibility, not a tool for influencing political views.
Akintunde, also known as Stainless, highlighted the importance of remittances from the diaspora, stating that they should not be tied to which political party is in power. He believes that family support should remain unaffected by political disagreements, as vulnerable family members should not suffer due to these issues.
He expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that many Nigerians are starting to see the positive effects of the government’s policies. Akintunde pointed out that financial help is crucial for families needing medical care or basic support.
According to Akintunde, sending money home does not prevent Nigerians from holding their government accountable. He stated that it is possible to support family members while still exercising democratic rights, like voting and demanding good governance.
He called for political leaders to focus on creating effective policies and engaging constructively with citizens, rather than putting financial pressure on families. Akintunde believes that Nigeria’s future depends on cooperation between the government and its citizens, both at home and abroad.
In his closing remarks, Akintunde encouraged unity among Nigerians and reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu’s efforts to improve the country. He stated that family welfare should never be used as a bargaining tool in politics and urged everyone to prioritize love and support for their families.
