Nigerian Military Air Strikes Kill 103 Terrorists in Adamawa and Borno
The Nigerian Army has conducted a series of air strikes against terrorist groups in Adamawa and Borno states, killing 103 militants between October 10 and October 18, 2026. These operations were part of ongoing efforts to combat the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
According to the Joint Task Force (North East), known as Operation HADIN KAI, the air strikes were carefully planned based on intelligence. They aimed to weaken terrorist networks and limit their activities in the region. The strikes targeted various locations, including Gudumbali, Badu, and Mairari, where significant numbers of terrorists were gathered.
One notable strike occurred on October 18, when the military targeted the alternate residence of Abu Saleem, a key ISWAP leader. This operation reportedly killed several prominent fighters, including Jindullah, who was known to be Abu Saleem’s chief security guard.
The military also destroyed important supplies, such as boat engines and motorcycles, which are crucial for terrorist operations. These actions have disrupted the terrorists’ ability to hide and operate in the area.
Overall, the military’s sustained air campaign demonstrates their commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and restoring security in the North East region of Nigeria. The operations have shown effectiveness in targeting both leadership and logistical capabilities of the terrorists.
