NAF Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Makurdi After Mission
A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter made an emergency landing on Wednesday in Utur Tse-Igboji, Bar Council Ward, Makurdi, Benue State. The helicopter landed on a farmland after reportedly developing a technical fault.
According to an eyewitness named Stephen Ikpam, residents quickly gathered to help the officers on board. Fortunately, all personnel were rescued safely.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, stated that the helicopter had provided support to ground forces during an operation against suspected kidnappers in the Ogbadigbo area of Benue State. This operation helped disrupt the activities of these criminals.
After completing the mission, the pilot decided to make a precautionary landing about 10 nautical miles from the airfield, following safety procedures after a combat mission. The helicopter has since returned to base.
The NAF emphasized its commitment to combating criminal activities and supporting ground forces to protect local communities.
