How to Check Eligibility and Claim the N50,000 Federal Grant in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has shared guidelines for people selected to receive a N50,000 relief grant. This program aims to help households manage rising living costs. The assistance is provided through mobile wallets managed by five approved payment companies.

This grant is part of the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention, which is not a loan, meaning recipients do not have to pay it back. Beneficiaries can access the funds without needing a smartphone or internet connection.

To find out if you are eligible, the government explains that beneficiaries were chosen from the National Social Register based on their needs. Individuals cannot apply for this grant or influence the selection process. Notifications will be sent via text messages from one of the five payment providers: ALAT, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay, and Moniepoint.

Once selected, recipients will receive a text message with instructions on how to accept the grant. They must follow these instructions to open a mobile wallet and receive the money. Beneficiaries can withdraw the funds through Point of Sale agents or transfer them to a bank account.

The government warns beneficiaries to be cautious of fraudsters who may try to exploit the program. They emphasize that no one should pay to access the grant and that personal banking details should not be shared with anyone.

If beneficiaries have not received a notification, they should not assume they are excluded, as payments are made in phases. Those who have questions or need assistance can contact their payment providers or the program’s helpline.
