Mourinho Asserts No Player is ‘Untouchable’ at Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s coach, Jose Mourinho, has made it clear that no player is guaranteed a spot on the team, regardless of their past achievements or status. This statement comes as Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior struggles with form and faces a four-match ban in La Liga for hair-pulling.

Despite his ban, Vinicius is set to play against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Mourinho pointed out that Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, who recently joined the team for a record fee, has been performing well, even scoring in La Liga while Vinicius was sidelined.

Mourinho stated, “Only the club badge is untouchable,” emphasizing that a player’s worth is determined by their performance on the field, not their history or the money spent to sign them. He confirmed that Vinicius will start on the left wing against Leipzig, but he has not yet decided if Diomande will also be in the starting lineup.

As Real Madrid prepares for their Champions League match, they aim to secure their third victory in the league phase. However, in La Liga, they currently sit third, trailing leaders Barcelona by six points. Mourinho acknowledged that the team still has a long way to go to reach their potential, stating, “We always have to improve, be it individually or collectively.”

French defender Ibrahima Konate praised Mourinho, noting that he commands respect without needing to say much. Konate believes Mourinho’s presence alone is enough to earn the team’s attention and respect.
