Makinde-Daura Campaign Committee Launched Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has officially launched its National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC) in Abuja. This move aims to engage grassroots supporters to secure a significant share of the votes from Nigeria’s 103 million registered voters.
During the inauguration on Tuesday, Alhaji Lawal Daura, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), highlighted the urgency of the upcoming elections, which are just 100 days away. He emphasized that a complete overhaul of the current political system is essential to address Nigeria’s pressing issues.
Daura warned against any attempts to manipulate the election process, assuring supporters that the committee is prepared to uphold the integrity of the vote as outlined in the Electoral Act. He expressed confidence that those planning to cheat would be met with unexpected resistance.
In discussing the committee’s formation, Daura noted that only individuals with proven success records were chosen to lead the campaign. He called for bold and focused leaders who have consistently achieved results in governance.
Yusuf Dantalle, the APM National Chairman, urged committee members to unite and work towards winning the elections in 2027. He acknowledged that while challenges and disagreements may arise, the ability to resolve these issues peacefully would demonstrate their readiness to govern effectively.
Dantalle also stressed the importance of collaboration with established party structures to maximize their electoral efforts. He reminded the newly inaugurated committee that their success would be measured by their ability to translate this achievement into electoral victory.
Felix Hyat, the Director-General of the committee, assured party leaders that the team is made up of dedicated professionals committed to achieving success. He also encouraged young voters to prioritize candidates with the capability to deliver results, urging them to reject divisive politics based on religion or ethnicity.
