Fulham’s Winless Streak Continues After Last-Minute Loss to Ipswich Town

Fulham players Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were disappointed after their team lost 2-1 to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday. This defeat extends Fulham’s winless streak to six matches.

Fulham seemed ready to secure their first league win of the season when Ryan Sessegnon scored just 10 minutes into the second half. He shot from outside the penalty area, putting Fulham ahead.

However, Ipswich fought back in front of their home fans at Portman Road. They nearly equalized when Emersonn hit the post with a header. Ipswich was also denied a penalty when Daizen Maeda fell in the box after a challenge.

In the 88th minute, Ipswich finally found the net with a powerful shot from Abdoul Ouattara, leveling the score. With the momentum on their side, Ipswich pushed for a winner and got it in the 92nd minute. Captain Dara O’Shea scored with a header from a set-piece, leading to celebrations among the home crowd.

This late collapse was a significant setback for Fulham, who had looked set to win before conceding two goals in the final minutes. The loss leaves Fulham in the relegation zone with only two points from six matches, increasing pressure on their manager, Álvaro Arbeloa.

On the other hand, Ipswich’s victory marked their third win of the season, moving them up to ninth place in the Premier League standings. Fulham will need to regroup quickly and address their defensive issues to improve their start to the season.
