Cross River Governor Promises Strong Support for Tinubu in 2027 Elections
Cross River Governor Bassey Otu announced that residents of the state will vote significantly for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Otu made this statement during an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally in Calabar on Monday.
He called on the people of Cross River to support Tinubu’s re-election and to help ensure victory for all APC candidates in the state. Otu emphasized that the state is prepared to increase its electoral support for the ruling party.
Otu attributed this commitment to the positive effects of Tinubu’s administration on Cross River. He stated, “We have consulted our people. We have agreed that it is time to scale up our votes. So, we are going to give him maximum votes.”
The governor described Cross River as a growing investment hub due to improvements in economic activities, productivity, and infrastructure. He noted that the current administration is positioning the state for greater economic opportunities.
Otu also mentioned that voting for the APC in Cross River would help implement government policies and development programs. He highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in boosting the state’s economy.
During the rally, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda praised Tinubu as a leader focused on transforming Nigeria’s economy. He discussed plans for a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030, which includes major infrastructure projects like the transformation of Calabar Port into a deep seaport and the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Yilwatda noted that these projects would enhance trade and regional economic integration, creating jobs and reducing poverty in the area. He expressed confidence that the Tinubu-led administration’s economic initiatives would strengthen Nigeria’s growth.
