Okorocha Urges Uzodimma to Stop Attacks on Judge Over APC Ticket Dispute

Okorocha Urges Uzodimma to Stop Attacks on Judge Over APC Ticket Dispute

Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has urged his successor, Hope Uzodimma, and his aides to cease their attacks on a judge who ruled against Uzodimma’s claim to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Imo West Senatorial District in the upcoming 2027 elections. Okorocha made this statement on Tuesday while at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Okorocha emphasized that Uzodimma should focus on appealing the court’s decision rather than criticizing the judiciary. The court had ruled on October 26, confirming Okorocha’s claim to the APC senatorial ticket.

He expressed concern over the negative comments made by Uzodimma’s aides, questioning why the judiciary is praised when decisions favor Uzodimma but condemned when they do not. Okorocha stated, “It is unacceptable to insult judges, and it does not represent our nation well.”

Okorocha accused Uzodimma of instructing his aides to attack the judge and insisted that the appeal process should be respected. He pointed out discrepancies in the documents related to the APC primary election, which he believes led to the judge’s ruling.

He challenged Uzodimma to publicly address the claims instead of allowing his supporters to attack judges. Okorocha also alleged that Uzodimma presented forged documents during the court proceedings.

Despite the ongoing dispute, Okorocha expressed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary, stating that he believes justice will prevail.
