Cole Palmer Signs Contract Extension with Chelsea Until 2034

Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension with Chelsea Football Club, ensuring he will remain with the team until 2034. Previously, he was under contract until 2033, but his new deal adds another year.

The 24-year-old England forward expressed his happiness about the extension, stating, “Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to sign, and I’m obviously very happy.” He mentioned that discussions with the club’s owners, sporting directors, and manager gave him confidence to commit to the team.

Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 and has made a significant impact, contributing a total of 91 goals and assists in 138 matches. Despite facing challenges last season, including a groin injury and a controversial absence from the England World Cup squad, he has started the current season strong, scoring four goals in seven games.

Chelsea’s manager, Xabi Alonso, has defended Palmer, emphasizing his commitment to the England team and the need for him to be fully fit to perform at his best. Palmer’s close relationship with teammate Morgan Rogers was a factor in his decision to join Chelsea.

This contract extension follows a trend at Chelsea, where several players, including Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto, have signed long-term deals stretching into the 2030s.
