Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer Sets Record for Fastest Goal in Bundesliga History
On Saturday, Augsburg midfielder Robin Fellhauer made history by scoring the fastest goal in Bundesliga history. He found the net in less than nine seconds during a match against Bayern Munich.
The record-setting goal happened right after the match began. Bayern’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made a mistake when he tried to lift the ball over Fellhauer. Instead, Fellhauer intercepted the ball and tapped it into an empty net.
This goal broke the previous record of nine seconds, which was shared by Kevin Volland and Karim Bellarabi. Volland scored for Hoffenheim against Bayern in 2015, while Bellarabi scored for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Bayern Munich managing to equalize twice after falling behind to Augsburg.
