Akeredolu’s Burial Scheduled for February 23, Announces Family

The family of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State, has announced that his burial is scheduled for February 23. The details were released in a burial arrangement by Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the deceased’s eldest son, in Ondo on Monday.

Rotimi Akeredolu passed away on December 27, 2023, at a German Hospital after battling a prolonged illness. The burial rites are set to take place from February 15 to February 25 in Ibadan, Akure, and Owo.

The lying-in-state ceremony will occur on Wednesday, February 21, at the State Sports Complex in Akure. The funeral service is planned for February 23 at St. Andrews Church, Owo, followed by interment later in Owo.

Expressing gratitude, the Akeredolu family thanked all those who offered condolences and support during this challenging time. They acknowledged the outpouring of love and kindness, emphasizing how these gestures strengthen their unwavering faith in God Almighty and renew their dedication to serving humanity.
