NSCIA Appoints MUSWEN President Oladejo to Board of Trustees

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has appointed Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo as a member of its Board of Trustees. Oladejo is currently the Deputy President-General (South) and President of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN).

This appointment was confirmed during the NSCIA’s General Assembly held in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. The assembly was led by the President-General of the Council, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, who is also the Sultan of Sokoto.

Oladejo takes over the position following the passing of the previous MUSWEN President, Alhaji Sakariyau Olayiwola Babalola. He is recognized for his expertise in finance and has previously served as the Deputy Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The appointment enhances MUSWEN’s role within the national Islamic council, which oversees Islamic matters in six southwestern states: Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo.

During the General Assembly, several other appointments were also made. These include Prof Mahfouz Adedimeji as Deputy Secretary-General for National Affairs and Professor Salisu Shehu as Deputy Secretary-General for International Affairs, among others.
