Zamfara State Launches Four-Day ICT Training for Educators
The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has started a four-day training program focused on using technology in teaching. This initiative, done in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), aims to improve how basic education is delivered in the state.
The training began with a kickoff event led by Professor Nasiru Garba Anka, the Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB. He was represented by Dalhatu Muhammad Jangebe, the Director of Data, Digital Platform and Analytics. They emphasized the importance of equipping educators with the skills needed to effectively use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in their teaching.
A total of 65 participants are taking part in the training, which includes 10 State ICT Officers, 50 ICT Instructors, and five Local Government Education Authority Desk Officers. The goal is for these educators to learn how to support digital learning and improve teaching methods in schools.
The training covers essential topics such as planning lessons using technology, creating digital teaching materials, managing limited resources, and sharing devices effectively. The representatives encouraged participants to engage fully in the training and to share their experiences with other teachers.
This program is part of ZSUBEB’s ongoing efforts to enhance teaching quality and promote innovative learning approaches in Zamfara State. The board also expressed gratitude for the support from UBEC and other education stakeholders in advancing digital education.
