The Nigeria central bank extends the deadline to turn in old naira notes

The Nigeria central bank  as  extended  the  deadline for swapping  the old naira currency notes,by 10 days it  was said in a statement on Sunday.

Nigerians now have until  the  Feb 10th to turn in N1,000 ($2.17),N 500 and N200 naira notes. The central bank (CBN) rolled out  the  newly designed notes last month but many  have complained  about  there inability to access the new currency  at banks or cash machines.

CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, in a statement, said the new deadline would allow more of those in rural communities to exchange there old notes.
