Sokoto Governor Aliyu Plans 2027 Re-Election Campaign Focused on Achievements

Sokoto Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will focus on the achievements of his administration as it campaigns for re-election in 2027. He challenged opposition parties to present their own records while in office.

Aliyu made these remarks at the Government House in Sokoto after attending the Jumu’at prayer on Friday. He highlighted that his government has completed several projects aimed at benefiting the people, which he believes justifies seeking another term.

The governor emphasized the importance of maintaining respectful campaign practices, stating, “We will ensure decorum in our campaign language and refrain from insulting anyone.” He urged political figures to concentrate on issues and accomplishments rather than personal attacks.

Aliyu also called on APC supporters to engage in political activities lawfully and with respect for others. He warned against using the freedom of expression as an excuse to infringe on the rights of others during the campaign period.

His administration is committed to listening to the needs of the people and ensuring their rights are protected. Aliyu expressed gratitude to the citizens of Sokoto for their ongoing support and urged them to continue their encouragement.
