Rivers Action Alliance Supports Wike’s Rainbow Coalition for 2027 Elections
The Rivers Action Alliance has announced its support for the Rainbow Coalition, which is led by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. This endorsement comes just days after the Labour Party in Rivers State also backed the coalition.
During a press conference in Port Harcourt, the State Chairman of the Action Alliance, Dumbari Nwigbarato, stated that the party’s decision aims to foster peace, unity, and development in Rivers State. He expressed confidence that the coalition would help advance the state’s interests.
Nwigbarato urged party members and the public to support the Rainbow Coalition, emphasizing the need for collaboration among all candidates in the upcoming elections. He stated, “We urge all our supporters, political associates and the good people of Rivers State to align with the Rainbow Coalition for the betterment of this state.”
Addressing concerns that the coalition might serve Wike’s personal ambitions, Nwigbarato clarified that their support is based on the coalition’s political structure and their own candidate’s involvement. He noted, “We are not only throwing our support to the Rainbow Coalition just because of one person.”
He described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for peace and unity, which he believes is essential for all residents of Rivers State. This endorsement follows the Labour Party’s support for the coalition on October 7, adding to the growing political momentum around the Rainbow Coalition.
The Action Alliance is focused on working with the coalition to promote development and harmony across Rivers State as the 2027 elections approach.
