Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State, recently celebrated its top graduates and community leaders during an awards ceremony held on Tuesday. This event was part of the university’s 18th convocation activities.
The ceremony recognized various achievements, including Lifetime Achievement and Community Impact awards. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, emphasized the importance of rewarding excellence to inspire others. He mentioned that gold awardees would receive full tuition scholarships, while silver and bronze awardees would get discounts on their tuition fees.
In addition to student awards, the event honored non-teaching staff and outstanding researchers. Notable industry figures were also recognized for their contributions, including Mr. Adekomi Tope, Dr. Owolabi Awosan, and Engr. Alfred Irabor Okoigun, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
During the ceremony, 98 students received Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards for their academic performance, and 816 students were listed on the Dean’s Roll of Honour for the 2025/2026 academic session. This recognition highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence.
Staff members who served for 10 and 20 years were acknowledged for their loyalty, with awards presented to both junior and administrative staff. One of the awardees, Mrs. Funmilola Ayeni, expressed her excitement about receiving recognition for her decade of service in the Bursary Department.
