PDP Holds Large Rally in Ilorin West to Boost Support Ahead of 2027 Elections

As the 2027 general elections approach, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a large rally in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara. The event aimed to gather support for the party and its candidates.

The rally was organized by Mallam Abdulkadir Issa, the PDP Chairman in Ilorin West. He thanked party members from all 12 political wards for their dedication and efforts in mobilizing support. The event also served as a way to inform and encourage voters.

The rally began at Omoda Roundabout and passed through several communities, including Odeadana, Alore, and Agbo-Oba, before concluding at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin. Many residents, including community leaders, youths, and women, participated in the event.

During the rally, the party promoted its candidates, including Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu for governor, Senator Saliu Mustapha for the Kwara Central Senate seat, and Prof. Abdulfatai Aremu for the House of Representatives.

Issa noted the warm welcome the rally received in various communities, suggesting that the PDP’s popularity is growing in Ilorin West. He mentioned that the turnout indicated strong grassroots support for the party.

Alhaji Isiaka Babatunde Owolabi, the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial District Chairman, praised the party for offering an alternative to the current ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). He claimed many residents are unhappy with the APC’s performance and assured that a PDP government would focus on peace and inclusive governance.

The rally highlights the changing political landscape in Kwara State, with the PDP positioning itself as a strong contender against the ruling APC as the elections draw near.
