PDP Candidate Ifeanyi Odii Confirms He Will Not Withdraw from Ebonyi Governorship Race
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the February 6, 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifeanyi Odii, has denied claims that he will step down for the current governor, Francis Nwifuru. Odii stated he is committed to winning the election and addressing issues like hunger and poverty in the state.
During a meeting with journalists in his hometown of Isu, Odii emphasized that he is determined to continue his campaign. He believes the people of Ebonyi are looking for better leadership and governance. Odii noted that the allegations about him stepping down were politically motivated and attributed them to the Minister of Works, David Umahi.
Odii explained that the PDP had given him its ticket through a consensus, indicating that he was chosen as a suitable candidate. He expressed his dedication to improving the lives of the people in Ebonyi, stating that he will not withdraw from the race for anyone.
He also highlighted the need for good governance, saying that hunger affects everyone regardless of their background. Odii aims to create jobs and improve the overall well-being of the state’s residents.
