PBAT Door-to-Door Movement Halts Activities After NAF Aircraft Crash

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027 has announced it will stop all activities across Nigeria indefinitely. This decision comes after the tragic death of Nigerian Air Force personnel in an aircraft crash in Ondo State.

The crash occurred on Monday when an ATR-42 aircraft was on a routine flight from Benin to Lagos. The National Coordinator of the movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, stated that the Grand Patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, directed this pause in activities to show respect for the victims and their families.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his sorrow over the incident and declared three days of national mourning. He ordered that flags be flown at half-mast and called for a thorough investigation into the crash.

Asuku mentioned that despite having planned events in several states, including Benue, Plateau, and Lagos, the movement felt it was inappropriate to continue with political activities during this period of mourning. He emphasized the importance of honoring the fallen military personnel and their sacrifice for the country.

The movement has extended its condolences to President Tinubu and the families of the deceased. Asuku apologized to supporters for the inconvenience caused by the indefinite suspension but reiterated that standing in solidarity with the nation was more important than proceeding with planned events.

He assured members that a new schedule for the suspended activities would be created once the situation is reassessed. The movement urged Nigerians to pray for the families of the victims and reaffirmed its commitment to its goals and future mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
