NSITF Alerts Nigerians About Fake Job Scams on Social Media

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has issued a warning about fake job advertisements and appointment letters being circulated by scammers. This notice was shared in a memo dated October 5, 2026, and signed by Samaila Abdu, the Executive Director of Administration.

NSITF stated that it is not currently hiring for any positions and that the job ads appearing on social media, especially Facebook, are fraudulent. The organization emphasized that these scams are part of a larger trend where individuals falsely claim to represent NSITF in recruitment efforts.

The Fund cautioned the public not to respond to these fake ads or send money for supposed job opportunities. NSITF made it clear that it does not charge fees for employment and does not use unofficial social media platforms for recruitment.

To help protect the public, NSITF has instructed its Regional and Branch Managers to display the warning notice in visible areas of their offices, including reception areas and notice boards. This is to ensure that job seekers are well-informed and can avoid falling victim to these scams.

NSITF urged Nigerians, especially those looking for jobs, to verify any recruitment claims through its official channels before taking any action. The warning comes amid rising concerns about online recruitment scams that target unemployed individuals with false promises of government jobs in exchange for money or personal details.
