Nottingham Forest Coach Glasner Defeated in Return to Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest’s manager Oliver Glasner faced defeat in his return to Crystal Palace, with the Eagles winning 3-1 on October 11, 2026. This match took place at Selhurst Park in south London.

Glasner, who previously managed Crystal Palace, was back for the first time since leaving the club at the end of last season. He had led Palace to an unexpected FA Cup victory in 2025 and helped them win the UEFA Conference League earlier this year.

Before the match, Palace fans welcomed Glasner warmly. The game started well for Forest when Dan Ndoye scored in the third minute. However, Forest missed several chances to extend their lead. Japan’s Daichi Kamada equalized for Palace in the 41st minute, marking his first Premier League goal.

Palace took the lead just before halftime with a goal from Jefferson Lerma. Yeremy Pino scored in the second half, sealing the victory for Palace. This win marked the first home league victory for Palace’s new manager, Pierre Sage, who took over after Glasner’s departure.

Glasner commented on the match, saying that his team failed to capitalize on their chances and that he felt responsible for the loss. Nottingham Forest is currently in 14th place in the league, while Crystal Palace moved up to 12th.

In another match, Hull City drew 2-2 with Everton, maintaining their unbeaten home record since returning to the Premier League. Hull’s Joe Gelhardt scored first, followed by goals from Everton and a late equalizer from Hull’s Mohamed Belloumi.
