Nigerian Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist in Kaduna, Target Criminal Hideouts in Zamfara

Nigerian troops have arrested a suspected terrorist in Kaduna State and are increasing their efforts against criminal groups in Zamfara State. The suspect was taken into custody on November 5, 2026, at a hospital in Kagarko town, according to the Joint Task Force North West, which is part of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The arrest was made during an operation that involved troops working with the Department of State Services (DSS). The suspect had gone to the hospital to get treatment for a gunshot wound he received during a clash with another group. He is believed to be connected to various attacks on communities, kidnappings, and cattle theft.

In Zamfara State, troops are focusing on clearing out hideouts used by criminals. Operations are taking place in the Maradun Local Government Area, specifically targeting areas like Aljummu Hausa, Aljummu Fulani, and Tunga Magaji villages. The military reports that these efforts have successfully removed several hideouts, helping to enhance security for local residents.

Additionally, the Nigerian Air Force conducted air operations on November 5 against suspected terrorist sites in Babban Doka and Kuyumbana Forest, following intelligence that a group linked to a wanted criminal was gathering there to plan attacks.

Captain Tamuno Sinivie, the Acting Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, stated that the troops are committed to maintaining control in the area and continuing their fight against terrorism and crime. They also encourage the public to share any useful information with security agencies to help protect lives and property.
