Nigeria Aims for Job Creation and Investments at CANEX 2026 Event

The Nigerian government announced that the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) 2026 will focus on creating jobs, attracting investments, and forming business partnerships. This information was shared during a briefing by the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.

Musawa described CANEX 2026 as a vital platform for economic growth and connectivity. It will be the largest event of its kind hosted by the Ministry, aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s creative talents to a global audience. She highlighted that President Bola Tinubu established the Ministry to better support the creative sector, which has been growing independently for years.

According to Musawa, Nigeria’s music, film, fashion, and heritage have already positioned the country as a leader in the creative industry. The government’s role is to create an environment that turns this talent into economic success.

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, emphasized that CANEX will serve as a platform for trade and investment. She noted that as the global economy shifts towards services and technology, Nigeria must leverage its creative strengths to gain more economic value.

Oduwole called for partnerships that would help connect creators with funding, investors, and international markets. She stated that the success of CANEX will be measured by the tangible outcomes it produces, such as new business opportunities and financial support for creative enterprises.

The event will take place from November 5 to 8, 2026, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts in Lagos. The government is inviting participants to come prepared to invest and engage in business opportunities.
