NDDA Calls for Caution on Pipeline Surveillance Contract Discussions

The Niger Delta Development Agenda (NDDA) has asked stakeholders to be cautious when discussing pipeline surveillance contracts in the region. They emphasized that public comments should be based on verified information.

In a statement from their leader, Iteveh Nurudeen Ekpokpobe, the NDDA expressed concern over recent remarks made by activist Asari Dokubo. They warned that such comments could increase tensions among stakeholders if not handled properly.

The NDDA disputed figures that Dokubo mentioned regarding the contracts, stating that these figures do not match the information they have. They described Dokubo’s claims as “highly fictitious” and not reflective of the actual situation in the Niger Delta.

The organization encouraged everyone to verify claims about the contracts through reliable sources. They also appealed to Dokubo, referring to him as a respected elder in the community, to be more responsible in his public statements.

According to the NDDA, maintaining peace and stability is crucial for economic growth and development in the Niger Delta, especially in the oil and gas industry. They called on security agencies and community leaders to promote dialogue among stakeholders and urged the public to be cautious about competing claims until they can be independently verified.
