Masari Rallies Support for Tinubu, Urges President to Stay Focused on Reforms Despite Criticisms

Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has thrown his weight firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the current administration possesses the most viable, clear-cut plan to reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth.

Making the assertion during a strategic stakeholder meeting, Masari urged the President to ignore rising public criticism and stay focused on executing his comprehensive reform agenda. He noted that while citizens are grappling with difficult economic realities, the administration has demonstrated exceptional courage by tackling structural challenges that previous leaders avoided.

According to the former governor, tough policy choices including the removal of the fuel subsidy and exchange rate realigned frameworks were critical first steps required to rescue public finance and attract sustainable investments. He insisted that the long-term benefits of the “Renewed Hope” agenda far outweigh temporary hurdles, pointing out that foundational economic restructuring takes time to yield visible dividends.

“President Tinubu has the best plan for Nigeria, and what we are witnessing is the difficult but necessary process of rebuilding a fractured economic architecture,” Masari stated. He criticized opposition elements for weaponizing short-term hardships for political leverage, maintaining that the administration’s infrastructural investments across sectors speak for themselves.

Masari further challenged regional political leaders and party stalwarts to take up the mantle of active communication, urging them to tour ongoing projects and educate the grassroots on the administration’s deliberate steps toward national renewal ahead of the 2027 political landscape.
