Leke Abejide Promises N500 Million for Youth Empowerment in Kogi State
Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives for Yagba Constituency, has promised to invest N500 million in a youth empowerment program. This initiative aims to help young people in his constituency start and grow small businesses.
Abejide made the announcement during a homecoming event at the Itodo Open Field in Yagba East Local Government Area, Kogi State. He stated that the program will benefit youths from all 74 communities in the federal constituency. The goal is to provide young people with the tools and opportunities they need to be self-sufficient, create jobs, and help their communities thrive.
In addition to the empowerment program, Abejide expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and for Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s second term. He believes that both leaders are dedicated to policies that will improve the lives of Nigerians and the people of Kogi State.
Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the Kogi State Government, welcomed Abejide at the event and praised his ongoing efforts to support vulnerable groups, including widows and students. Ayoade highlighted Abejide’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of those in need.
Hon. Tosin Olokun, the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, assured Abejide of the community’s support for President Tinubu and the lawmaker in the upcoming elections. He noted that the public has recognized the positive impact of the current administration and will continue to back leaders focused on development and good governance.
During the event, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro encouraged the youth to come together and engage in the political process. He described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the “winning team” for the 2027 elections and urged young people to support candidates who are committed to their development and the progress of the state.
The homecoming ceremony was attended by various political leaders, APC members, traditional rulers, and supporters from across the Yagba Federal Constituency.
