Kenya Airways Confirms Passenger Death on Flight to Lagos After Medical Emergency
Kenya Airways has confirmed that a passenger died after experiencing a medical emergency on a flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, Nigeria. This incident took place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as the plane was nearing Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The passenger became unresponsive at around 9:20 p.m. Nigerian time, just about 20 minutes before the flight was scheduled to land. The airline stated that the aircraft landed at approximately 9:41 p.m., after which medical personnel boarded to assist the passenger.
Unfortunately, after examining the passenger, the medical team confirmed that they had died. Kenya Airways expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and apologized for the distress caused by the incident.
The airline is cooperating with the deceased passenger’s family, local authorities, and aviation regulators to provide necessary support and handle the situation appropriately.
