Harry Kane Prefers Champions League Win Over Ballon d’Or

Harry Kane, the striker for Bayern Munich, has stated that he would rather win the UEFA Champions League than hold onto his recently awarded Ballon d’Or. He shared this preference during a press conference on Monday, ahead of Bayern’s upcoming match against Atletico Madrid.

When asked if he would exchange the individual accolade for the prestigious Champions League trophy, Kane responded affirmatively, saying, “Yes, I would choose the Champions League.” He expressed that winning the Champions League would be particularly special as it would allow him to celebrate with his teammates.

Kane described receiving the Ballon d’Or as one of the best moments of his life and career, but emphasized that lifting the Champions League trophy with Bayern would be an incredible experience. He remains hopeful about achieving both honors this season.

Having spent most of his career at Tottenham Hotspur without a major trophy, Kane joined Bayern in August 2023. He became Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer before moving to Germany. Although he reached the Champions League final with Tottenham in 2019, he lost to Liverpool, missing out on his first chance to win the title.

Since joining Bayern, Kane has won domestic titles, including the Bundesliga and the German Cup, but the Champions League still eludes him. His Ballon d’Or win came after a remarkable season where he scored 73 goals for both Bayern and the England national team.

The Champions League match against Atletico Madrid is another chance for Kane to pursue his goal, with the final set for June 5, 2027, at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
