The APC has inaugurated a seven-member committee tasked with overseeing the screening process for the 16 governorship aspirants who have purchased the N50 million nomination forms for the upcoming primary election in Ondo State. The ceremony, held at the national headquarters of the APC in Abuja on Friday, saw the presence of some members of the National Working Committee.

However, the absence of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, was noted during the event where the oath was administered by the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the APC, Nze Chidi Duru. Heading the screening committee is former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Joshua Lidani, with former House of Representatives member Bimbo Daramola as Secretary. Other members include Pastor Jones Erue, Chief Second Bakor, Magaret Duru, Prof. Chukwudi Ledirick, and Abdul Balogun.

The members were all sworn in alongside a five-man Screening Appeal Committee, chaired by Senator Oseni Yakubu representing Kogi Central. Addressing journalists after the ceremony, Duru emphasized the importance of the screening process in accordance with the party’s constitution. He also highlighted the need for diligent and fair conduct during the compressed timeframe of the screening exercise.

It’s worth noting that Ganduje and Basiru were similarly absent during the oath-taking ceremony for a seven-man committee overseeing the screening of 12 governorship aspirants in Edo State for the February 17 primary election.National Chairman, APC, Abdullahi GandujeNational Chairman, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje
