Yesterday, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued a notice to aircraft owners to temporarily relocate their aircraft parked at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) to alternative airports in preparation for the Presidential Inauguration ceremony scheduled for May 29th, 2023. The notice, signed by the Regional General Manager (NC)/Airport Manager (NAIA), explained that the relocation was necessary to ensure the safety and security of all parties involved in the high-security event. Aircraft owners were requested to relocate their aircraft to alternate airports on or before May 22nd, 2023. The notice acknowledged the inconvenience caused but stated that the temporary relocation was in line with international best practices.
