City Boy Movement Aims for 10 Million Youth Votes for Tinubu in 2027 Election
The City Boy Movement (CBM) has announced its goal to gather at least 10 million youth votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for January 2027. This commitment was made during a meeting with the President at the State House in Abuja.
Hon. Francis Shoga, the Director-General of the Movement, shared that CBM has already registered 4.6 million members across Nigeria. The organization has been actively engaging young people through its Renewed Hope Youth Tour, which has reached over 50,000 individuals in all six geopolitical zones of the country.
Shoga emphasized the importance of youth participation in governance, urging the President to appoint qualified young Nigerians to public offices. He stated that the Movement is dedicated to turning its growing membership into electoral support for the President’s re-election.
“We are committed to delivering a minimum of 10 million Nigerian youth votes in January 2027,” Shoga said. He outlined the Movement’s plans to campaign door-to-door, reaching out to communities and neighborhoods to spread their message of hope and unity.
The organization has been building a strong presence in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, focusing on grassroots engagement. Shoga noted that their activities extend beyond urban centers to rural areas, schools, and workplaces, aiming to address the concerns of young Nigerians while promoting the administration’s policies.
In addition to mobilizing votes, Shoga highlighted the need for more opportunities for youth involvement in governance. He praised the President for previous appointments of young Nigerians but called for further action to ensure capable individuals are included in decision-making roles.
As the 2027 election approaches, the City Boy Movement is determined to remain disciplined and peaceful in its efforts, aiming to become not just the largest youth movement in Nigeria, but also the most impactful and development-oriented in Africa.
