Dani Carvajal, a former defender for Real Madrid, has signed with Getafe on Tuesday as a free agent. His contract will last until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old right-back left Real Madrid, where he won 27 trophies, at the end of last season. Getafe announced the deal, noting Carvajal’s leadership and experience as valuable assets for the team.
Carvajal started his career at Real Madrid’s youth academy, known as La Fabrica. He left for Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 but returned to Real Madrid the following year.
Last season, Carvajal struggled with injuries and was not selected to join the Spanish national team, known as La Roja, during their World Cup win.
