Air India Flight Diverted to Jaipur Due to Hijack Rumor and Security Alert

An Air India flight traveling from Frankfurt, Germany, to New Delhi, India, was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday due to a security alert involving a reported bomb threat and a suspected hijacking rumor.

The flight, known as AI 2030, landed safely at Jaipur International Airport and was taken to an isolation area. Security personnel began inspecting the aircraft and the luggage of passengers.

As the plane approached Indian airspace, the alert was raised, prompting Air Traffic Control and security agencies to act. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force, local police, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad were involved in the examination of the aircraft.

According to an airport source, the alert was primarily linked to a hijacking rumor rather than a confirmed bomb threat. An official stated, “It was a hijacking rumor, not a bomb threat. It’s too early to comment officially on the matter. An investigation is underway.”

All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft and taken to a designated holding area inside the airport terminal.

At the time of reporting, neither Air India nor Jaipur airport authorities had provided an official statement about the incident. More details regarding the origin of the alert and the circumstances surrounding the reported hijacking rumor were still pending as security agencies continued their investigation.
