Italy’s Foreign Minister Faces Cyber Threats Amid Support for Ukraine
Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced that he is being targeted by hackers who are sharing his personal information online. This situation has arisen because of Italy’s support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
Tajani stated that for several days, cybercriminals have been spreading his personal data on the dark web. They are trying to gather more information about him, which has led to threats and intimidation.
In a message on social media platform X, Tajani emphasized that the motivation behind these attacks is Italy’s political stance. He said, “Our position on Ukraine is the political reason why I am being targeted: defending the freedom of a sovereign state, taking a clear stand in favour of democracy and the independence of a nation.”
Despite the threats, Tajani declared that he will not be intimidated. He reaffirmed his commitment to Italy’s support for Ukraine, which includes providing humanitarian and military assistance as the country defends itself against the ongoing invasion by Russia.
